Other Ways to Give

More Ways to Make an Impact

Tribute, Memorial, and Gift in Lieu

Honor someone special or celebrate a milestone by making a donation in their name. Tribute and memorial gifts are a meaningful way to support our mission.

You can also ask friends and family to donate to CASA in lieu of gifts for birthdays, weddings, graduations, or anniversaries.

Donate online through our donation form, call Katja at 916-293-1773, or mail a check to CASA of Placer, Yuba, Sutter, 1430 Blue Oaks Blvd, Suite 260, Roseville, CA 95747

Employer Matching Gift

Double or triple your impact at no extra cost! Many employers match charitable donations—even those made by retirees or spouses. Some also match volunteer hours.
Check with your HR department to see if your company offers a matching gift program.

Payroll Giving

Make an ongoing impact through payroll deductions:

  • Our Promise (CA State Employees)
Use Agency Code #24752 to designate CASA through the California State Employee Giving Campaign.
  • Combined Federal Campaign (CFC)
Federal employees can support CASA by using CFC Code #62586.

Legacy Giving

Leave a lasting legacy of advocacy for children and families.

By including CASA in your estate plans, you can create a gift that costs nothing during your lifetime but creates lasting change. Legacy gifts may offer tax benefits for your heirs and estate.

Sample Bequest Language:
“I give to CASA of Placer, Yuba, and Sutter, a nonprofit organization (IRS EIN #77-0620948), the sum of $________ [or describe property].”

Other planned giving options include charitable trusts, annuities, and life insurance policies. Please consult your estate planner or financial advisor for guidance.

Gifts of Stock & Securities

Make a tax-wise gift by donating appreciated stocks, bonds, or mutual funds held for at least one year. You may avoid capital gains tax and receive a charitable deduction for the full fair market value.

To initiate a transfer or notify us of a gift, please email katja@casaconnects.org.

Donate a Vehicle

Turn your old car, truck, RV, motorcycle, or boat into support for CASA programs. Vehicle donations are tax-deductible and help fund life-changing services for foster youth and families.

Qualified Charitable Distribution

Give Smarter in 2026 with a Qualified Charitable Distribution and the New Above-the-Line Deduction

If you want your generosity to go even further this year, here are two powerful tax tools to know about when you make charitable donations in 2026:

📌 Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)

If you are 70½ or older, you can direct up to $111,000 from your IRA straight to a qualified nonprofit like CASA without including the distribution in your taxable income. This gift can count toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) and helps reduce your taxable income—an excellent way to support your favorite causes while boosting your tax efficiency.

📌 Above-the-Line Deduction for Charitable Gifts

Starting in 2026, thanks to federal tax changes, taxpayers who take the standard deduction (don’t itemize) can now claim an above-the-line charitable deduction.

  • Up to $1,000 for single filers
  • Up to $2,000 for married couples filing jointly

This means even if you do not itemize, you may reduce your taxable income by the amount of cash donations you make directly to qualified charities.

🔹 What this means for you:

Whether you’re a retiree using IRA distributions to support nonprofits or a donor who takes the standard deduction, 2026 offers more ways to make your giving count—both for your community and your taxes.

Always consult your tax advisor or financial planner to make sure you’re using these options in the most beneficial way for your situation.
