Friends of CASA
About Friends of CASA
Founded in 2009 by the dedicated donor and volunteer Debby Ziegler, Friends of CASA began with a heartfelt vision: to create a sustainable and engaging social fundraiser to support CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates). Debby recognized a growing need in the community to help children and families facing challenging circumstances and took it upon herself to rally a group of passionate, like-minded friends.
“The Friends of CASA have created a profound and lasting impact on foster youth in Placer County. Their signature event is one of the most highly anticipated gatherings, consistently raising vital funds to ensure every foster youth receives the dedicated support of a CASA.”
-Amy Sugimoto, Chief Executive Officer, CASA of Placer, Yuba & Sutter
Over the years, the Annual Spring Tea has evolved into a cherished tradition within the community. What started as a modest gathering has blossomed into a highly anticipated event that draws more than 300 attendees each year and consistently sells out. The creativity of the hostesses continues to shine through breathtaking, themed tablescapes that leave guests in awe and elevate the overall experience. Their dedication and artistic vision have helped transform the tea into not only a fundraiser but also a showcase of the incredible talent and imagination within the community.
Friends of CASA has raised over $750,000 for CASA of Placer, Yuba & Sutter, directly benefiting foster children, at-risk youth, and families in need. This success is a testament to the unwavering commitment of Friends of CASA and the generous support of the community. The event has expanded to include live music that sets a joyful tone, an exciting live auction where guests can bid on incredible items, an extensive raffle filled with must-have prizes, and the always-entertaining Hat Parade, a highlight that brings even more fun and flair to the occasion.
Friends of CASA has come a long way since its inception, but its passion for helping others has only grown stronger. The dedication of its members, combined with the generosity of the community, has ensured that this organization remains a powerful force for good. If you are inspired by their mission and want to contribute to their efforts, there is always room for more passionate individuals to join their team.
