Family Services

Strengthening Families, Restoring Futures

We believe in the power of prevention—and that with the proper support, families can stay together, grow stronger, and build lasting stability for their children. Our Family Services program supports parents in crisis, as well as kinship caregivers who step in to care for children and prevent the need for foster care placement.

Through compassionate mentorship, practical guidance, and access to community-based resources, we help families build resilience, strengthen protective factors, and work toward long-term success and reunification whenever possible.

How It Works

Family Services connects families with trained CASA volunteers who serve as mentors, advocates, and allies. These dedicated volunteers walk alongside parents and caregivers as they:

  • Work toward reunification
  • Develop essential life and parenting skills
  • Fulfill case plan goals
  • Access community services and resources
  • Build protective factors like resilience, stability, and support networks

Our goal is to empower families before foster care becomes the only option.

Family Services Programs

Family Mentors support families at risk of separation by focusing on prevention, accountability, and long-term stability. Through goal-oriented home visits, mentors help strengthen protective factors like resilience and connection. They work alongside parents to build essential life skills—including sobriety, budgeting, parenting, organization, health, and progress toward case plan goals.

Parent Empowerment Group (PEG)

The Parent Empowerment Group (PEG) pairs trained CASA mentors with parents working toward reunification. Through an online peer group, PEG provides guidance, encouragement, and support as parents navigate the child welfare system. The program promotes accountability, self-advocacy, and long-term parenting skills to support lasting family stability.

Mentors provide emotional encouragement, help parents strengthen bonds with their children, and connect them to key services and resources.

Kinship Allies

Kinship Allies supports kinship caregivers who face unique challenges within the child welfare system. Trained CASA volunteers provide advocacy, emotional support, and guidance to help caregivers navigate complex systems and access vital resources.

By fostering connection and offering tailored assistance, Kinship Allies helps create stable, nurturing homes for children who have experienced trauma.
